It is our philosophy that prevention is the key to first class dental care and it is our aim to work with all patients to obtain and preserve healthy teeth and gums.

How can we help you to achieve a healthy smile?

Regular and thorough dental examinations will look for signs of decay, gum disease and tooth wear, and will include a full oral cancer screen. We have installed intra oral cameras which allow you to view what the dentist sees and gain a better understanding of your own mouth. Through increasing awareness of dental disease and instructing on techniques to avoid it we hope to help you reduce the need for dental treatment.

Regular hygiene visits play a vital role in preventing dental health problems. Our dental hygienist/therapist works closely with the dentist to provide in depth preventative treatments where needed. These can range from a routine scale and polish to more intensive gum treatments. Undiagnosed or untreated gum disease can lead to the loss of otherwise apparently healthy teeth. If gums aren’t healthy they can’t hold onto teeth and it’s very sad when patients lose healthy teeth because gum disease has not been correctly diagnosed. Regular visits to the dentist can prevent this unnecessary tooth loss. Other risks associated with gum disease include an increased risk of cardiovascular disease along with bad breath which can affect self esteem.
